The Westminster Group Plc is pleased to announce the appointment of two new senior sales and operation personnel.
Mr Nidal Yavuz has been appointed as Westminster’s General Manager, X-Ray Screening based at Westminster’s new port security operations centre in Tema, Ghana. Nidal has nearly three decades experience in the X-Ray screening sector. He began his career working on particle accelerators in X-ray applications, he has since held a number of senior sales and project management positions with various companies, including Smiths Detection, and has over 24 years’ experience of major port projects around the world including Saudi Arabia and Ghana. Nidal is multilingual speaking English, French, Arabic & Turkish.
Mr Richard Conlon has been appointed as Westminster’s Sales and Operations Manager for its Middle East subsidiary, Westminster Arabia, based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Richard has a master’s degree in Business Continuity, Security and Emergency Management, he has 24 years’ experience in carrying out security consultancy projects and managing security projects, many of which have been in the Middle East. In recent years he has worked on a number of Middle East projects providing security consultancy to the Kuwait Security Programme, KSA Cassidian (Airbus) and KSA Etisalat Mobily. At the end of October Richard will be leading a Westminster team reviewing security at one of Saudi’s leading ports.

Westminster Group PLC are delighted to announce that The Gulf Aviation Academy, our strategic partners, were the successful winners of the “Training Organisation of the Year” award at the 4th biennial AVSEC Global Symposium & Awards 2019.
In addition to this, Yousif Hasan, their ATSC coordinator was awarded “Trainer of the Year”.
These prestigious awards are an indication of the professionalism and the hard work demonstrated by GAA in developing their training facility to be amongst the best in the world.

Following the announcement of a Strategic Partnership with Gulf Aviation Academy (GAA) and Westminster Aviation Security Services, Joanna Fowler Head of Managed Services and Stuart Gilbert Head of Technology Division visited GAA’s Training Facility and were hosted by Capt. Dhaffer AlAbbasi Chief Executive Officer and Yousif Hasan ATSC coordinator.
During their visit Stuart Gilbert and Joanna Fowler were given a guided tour of GAA’s state of the art training facility including the impressive flight simulator machines.
In February 2019 GAA launched ambitious plans to expand their business which included the purchase of a fourth Airbus 320 Full flight Simulator (FFS). GAA now has 1 x A330 Flight simulators and 4 x Airbus 320 based in Bahrain in addition to 1 x EMB 170/190 located in Amsterdam.
In a recent press release the GAA Chief Executive Officer said 2019 expansion plans are in line with strategic objectives to provide the best flight training services and modern training tools, not only in Bahrain but in the entire region. During 2018, GAA trained 6,522 agents consisting of pilots, crew, engineers, security personnel and other aviation personnel, 92 percent of those trainees were from outside Bahrain.
GAA is positioned to become the future of high quality professional aviation training in Bahrain and the Middle East North Africa (MENA) region. Offering a comprehensive range of structured training programmes and courses for all aviation personnel in the industry.

Westminster is pleased to announce that has entered into a Strategic Alliance
Agreement with the Gulf Aviation Academy of Bahrain (‘GAA’) for the provision
of aviation and other specialised training services.
GAA is a leading provider of
professional aviation training in Bahrain and the wider Middle East and North
Africa (‘MENA’) region offering a comprehensive range of structured training
programmes and courses for all aviation personnel in the industry.
Westminster and GAA have
entered into a formal Strategic Alliance Agreement under which the parties
agree to combine their individual strengths and explore business opportunities
both within their own markets and jointly worldwide. This collaboration will
cover two areas:
- Joint Initiative International
Training Programmes (‘JIITPs’); and
- Special Joint Programmes
Under JIITPs both parties will
offer each other’s training programmes at their respective training centres and
will jointly market the extensive combined range of courses and services
Under SJPs the parties will
endeavour to jointly promote other products and services beyond training such
as airport security equipment and management programmes.

Westminster Aviation Security Services Ltd is pleased to announce that it’s sister company Westminster International Ltd has secured contract for over $200k USD for the supply of a Vehicle Based X-Ray Baggage Screening Solution to a Customs Department of a Caribbean Island.
The system is a totally self-contained X-Ray screening solution
that can be rapidly deployed by the customs department to locations of interest
where the on-board advanced technology X-Ray Baggage Scanner will be used to
detect organic and non organic items such as weapons, explosives and narcotics
in baggage and packages.
The system operator is located in a climate-controlled cabin
within the vehicle.
The solution can be powered from local power or using its own
